The postscript of the inaugural issue of the Women’s Voice Biweekly mentioned, “The magazine’s cover design was created by the renowned Beiping painter Li Xuyin. Ms. Li not only excelled in painting but also had a great passion and ample skills for writing essays, poems, and other literary works. She has promised to regularly provide cartoons and writings for the magazine.” The biography of Li Xuying, written by my mother, includes many poems and articles that were published in the Women’s Voice Biweekly.This demonstrates her strong support for the magazine’s efforts to create a space for women to express themselves.
This four-character poem shared the same title of the magazine, and was published in the third (November 1946) issue. In very concise language, it summarizes the magazine’s founding purpose, its main content and forms, and the efforts and expectations of its creators:
《妇声半月刊》创刊号编后中提到：“封面的图案是北平名画家李旭英女士设计的，李女士不但专长于作画，对于小品文诗歌等都非常爱好，有充分的写作能力，她曾答应我们以后经常给我们画漫画写文章。”母亲编写的李旭英传记中所录李旭英发表的诗文，多刊载于《妇声半月刊》，可见她很支持这份给妇女同胞创造一块自己的园地的努力。
这首与期刊同名的四言诗发表于1946年11月《妇声半月刊》第一卷第三期。以极其简约的语言归纳了《妇声》创办的初衷，主要内容形式，以及创作者们的努力和期望：

A millennium’s suffocation, to whom shall we moan?
Stirred and startled, our hearts cry out discontent,
Only the voice of women: sketching life’s essence,
Art and domesticity, freely discussed.
In the ancient capital, golden flowers bursting forth like precious jade.
With all our emotions, we love this newborn,
With all our wisdom, we craft her spirit.
Like a crescent moon descending, bountiful and bright on the fifteenth,
After a brief fortnight apart, our reunion delights.
